[Gas Newspaper = Nam Young-tae, reporter] It is expected that this year's government will exhibit greater competency than the government's hydrogen economy policy, such as the participation of all fuel cell companies for domestic buildings in the SOFC industrialization forum.
The SOFC Industrialization Forum (Chairman Dong-Won Lee, Head of the STX Heavy Industries Center, hereinafter referred to as the SOFC Forum) hosted the 2020 New Year's Meeting and a temporary general meeting at the Kimcheon Rosenia Hotel on the 4th.
In this event, in accordance with the government's hydrogen economy policy, this year, discussions were made on the direction of the SOFC industry and the activation of the industry. In particular, the SOFC Forum decided to actively take steps to strengthen member companies' capabilities and converge opinions in order to comply with government policies such as the KS standard in the SOFC field currently being promoted by the government.
In addition, information on the current status of the 2020 new and renewable energy policy from the Korea Energy Agency was shared with the SOFC Forum members, showing high interest.
In the subsequent temporary general meeting, the SOFC Forum unanimously passed the additional appointment of the Steering Committee, and the approval of the registration of a new member company, as the main agenda. Accordingly, Doosan, H & Power, and Xyphilos, together with the existing steering committee members, STX Heavy Industries, Casera Cell, Mico, Union Materials, and ShinNeck EnTech, were additionally appointed as operating committee members of the SOFC Forum. The new Steering Committee will commence full-scale activities starting in March.
Along with this, as the joining of the general industry and Nex Plus as a member company is approved, the SOFC Forum participated in the manufacturing of a fuel cell system manufacturer for buildings.
With the participation of both the polymer electrolyte fuel cell (PEMFC) and the SOFC system manufacturer in the SOFC forum, the role of the forum is expected to become important in future government activities for the development of the fuel cell market for domestic buildings.
Meanwhile, at the current SOFC forum, Kyungdong Navien, Nex Plus, Daeheung Radiator, Doosan, Deco Energy, Mico, Beomhan Industry, Shinne N-Tech, CN I, STX Heavy Industries, Esfuel Cell, H & Power, LTC, Union Material, A total of 22 companies are participating as members, including Cognitive Controls, Giphilos, Casera Cell, Blue Technology Energy, PnP Energy Tech, Hana AMT, and Hanglass (Order in Canada).
